According to the sources, this dance was initially created in 1930 by a Balinese artist and a Germany painter. Parts of the dance were inspired by the praying ritual. It is called as Kecak because the people that surrounding the dancers would scream “cak… cak… cak…

The show will be started with burning some incense and then a group of accompanists will get into the stage by screaming the word we explained before. After that they will sit in circle formation and the dancers will be in the middle of the circle. The good thing is the dancers would not stick to the rule of dancing so they can express their movement. You may find it funny and entertaining yet attractive during the show without sacrificing the sacred sense.
