Saung Angklung Udjo dates back to the 1920s by one of the Sundanese traditional figures, Udjo Ngalagena. And his legacy of traditional martial arts, music and art performances is carried on to this day and embodied well by the place itself.

Things To Do

There are many things to do once you get there, from the renowned Angklung instruments exhibition that is made by legendary manufacturers, martial arts, performed musical and theatrical arts that is available daily and some special events on a certain date, but the most interesting thing is that you can play the instruments yourself on stage. Saung Angklung Udjo also provides Sundanese education for those who wants to know the roots of traditional civilization of Western Java.

The venue itself is a thing of beauty, with a touch of nature combined with the rich culture vibe it provided, making it an unique blend that is found nowhere else. It is also possible to perform a wedding here, but you need to book it in advance first.

How To Get There

By Local Transportation

The recommended means of transportation recommended is the angkot heading to Cicaheum Station, so it is possible to board the Cicaheum – Ciroyom one. The place itself is roughly 100 meters from the Cicaheum Station, so once you get off the angkot, you can either walk to the entrance or use an ojek.

By Bus

The first thing you need to do is to get to the Leuwipanjang Bus Terminal. From there, it is quite a similar step with the one mentioned above, just find an angkot that heads to Cicaheum, and then follow the steps mentioned above.

By Train

The easiest route if you are arriving by train is to get of at Hall Station, and then find the angkot heading to Cicaheum and then board it and get off just meters away from the Cicaheum Terminal to reach the entrance itself.

By Personal Vehicle

The route you are going to want to take is to go to Padasauka Road through the Pasopati Flyover. From there, it is quite easy to spot the sign that reads Saung Angklung Udjo, and it is located on the Padasuka Road itself.


Located just near the Pasopati FLyover, Saung Angklung udjo is located in a rather strategic place and it makes it easy to find a place to stay, and one of the recommended ones is the Holiday Inn which provides international standardized rooms and service. The price range is starting from IDR 700,000 to IDR 2,000,000.
