Even though it’s overshadowed by the fame of the crater, the day you’re going to spend here is not going to be a waste.

Deemed as another lake by a lot of people, but if you are careful enough, the details of this place will shine on your visit. The lake that rumored to be the birth of the Ki Santang and Dewi Rengganis’ love story resembles the romantic air that surrounds it.

You are permitted to stroll around or to rent a boat to enjoy the depth of its beauty more freely.  And it is also surrounded by the vast array of tea plantation that will freshen your breath.

Things To Do

There are usually not a lot things to do on a lake visit, but this spot has a boat rental service that lets you to roam around the lake to visit the nearby Sasaka Island which is believed to be the place where the love tale between Ki Santang and Dewi Rengganis took place. You are also permitted to visit the Stone of Love nearby, and also there are fishing rods for rent available to do some fishing on the lake which is filled by local fishes.

How To Get There

By Bus

Its rather easy to get there from Bandung, all you need to do first is to reach the Leuwi Panjang Bus Terminal. From there, you can take the local shuttle service or elf to go in the direction of Ciwidey, and you can ask the driver to get you off at Situ Patenggang.

By Train

To reach Situ Patenggang more easily, it is advised that you get off at Bandung Train Station and walk through the north exit. From there, you board the Sadang Serang – Caringin angkot until you reach Kopo and find the local elf to go to the Situ Patenggang Entrance.

By Personal Vehicle

The route you are going to take to reach Situ Patenggang is a relatively crowded road, so it is not going to be hard. You need to follow the route to Kopo, and then from there you can go to Soreang, and follow the road to Ciwidey, and from there it is going to be approximately 5 kilometer drive to reach this lake.

Accommodation

The stay that we are going to recommend first is at the Ciwidey Valley Resort, where you can choose to do a glamour camping experience which accommodates 4 to 10 person and will cost starting from IDR 1,000,000, or you can choose to stay in the provided cottages which cost around the same price as the glamour camps.

Airbnb also provides a good alternative, like the ones provided by Adam and also Nisa’s Villa with a flexible pricing, starting from IDR 250,000, depends on what kind of stay you are looking for.

Nearest Tourist Attraction

Of course you can enjoy the beauty of the famous White Crater, and you can also enjoy the Rancabali Tea plantation nearby, do some strawberry picking at the Strawberry Plantation, or to go the full range to visit Cimanggu Recreational Park which you will not regret.

Top Tips

1. It is better to visit on weekdays as it is lets you to enjoy it without the crowded surroundings.

2. There are a lot of food stalls that sell the local delicacies such as bandrek and bajigur, so it is recommended that you try it if you have not already.

3. The roads leading to the area is a bit dangerous, so drive with caution.
